House show is a queer contemporary arts events series in Santa Barbara that showcase visual and performing artists. The first house show included audio visual performances, bands, poetry and four visual artist. Artist Negar Farajiani orchestrated a community weaving project by teaching attendees how to weave- contributing to the communal textile. House Show aims to not only be a space for making and showcasing art, but also a space for mutual aid, community building, and resource redistribution. As two queer academic artists, organizers Devon and Lucy are interested in the blurring of activism and art that public practice allows.
